Baked Alaska eco-drama: your chance to fund the film

Operation Noah supporters will have heard of, or even seen, the hugely successful Riding Lights Theatre Company production of its brilliant climate change drama, Baked Alaska. This was the product of a major collaboration between the Diocese of Lichfield, Christian Aid and Operation Noah, and was performed last autumn to over 6,000 people in 50 venues nationwide.

One of the consistent responses that we received throughout the tour was the request that elements of the highly entertaining and challenging drama be made more widely available, particularly with younger audiences in mind.

Following a review of the play and its outcomes, the commissioning team have drawn up proposals to use the materials to create a series of short educational films, to be available initially as free downloads to spark discussion and learning in schools and other groups.  They are now crowdfunding to make this possible.

Operation Noah wants to encourage all our supporters and their friends to visit the Baked Alaska Just Giving page to find out more about this exciting project. We hope that you might also be interested in assisting with financial support to see this project become reality towards the end of this year.

Update (October 2016)

Over £34,000 has now been raised towards the £40,000 target for putting Baked Alaska on film. Filming has taken place, and seven episodes of Baked Alaska will be available for free download, along with educational materials, to schools and other groups.
