The Fossil Fuelled 5 report, published during COP26 by the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty, examines five wealthy nations – the UK, US, Canada, Australia and Norway – that have a widening gap between their green rhetoric and their plans to expand fossil fuel production.

Our free webinar on Tuesday 31 May at 17.30 BST will focus on these five key countries which have yet to lead by example, as well as on three important actions that Churches and faith communities can take in response to environmental inaction by governments: fossil fuel divestment; support for the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty; and opposition to all new fossil fuel developments.

Register for the webinar here.

We are delighted to welcome the following speakers:

Bill McKibben, author, environmentalist and co-founder of 350.org
Revd Rachel Mash, Environmental Coordinator of the Anglican Church of Southern Africa
Pastor Ray Minniecon, Executive Member of the Indigenous Peoples’ Organisation and Australian indigenous Anglican pastor
revd abby mohaupt, Director of Education and Training at GreenFaith and Presbyterian Church (USA) minister
James Buchanan, Bright Now Campaign Director at Operation Noah

The Global Church & The Fossil Fuelled Five webinar – organised by Laudato Si’ Movement, Operation Noah, World Council of Churches, Green Anglicans and GreenFaith – will include case studies on climate activism from the Anglican Church of Southern Africa, the Presbyterian Church (USA), Australia, the UK and Norway.

There will also be an opportunity to hear how your Church or faith group can join the next Global Divestment Announcement on 5 July 2022 as well as how it can endorse the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty. Register for the webinar here. Join us on Tuesday 31 May at 17.30 BST and spread the word!
