If your church would like to find out more about climate change and what they can do, we recommend the following websites.

Christian organisations working on environment and climate change

Christian Ecology Link
A multi-denominational UK Christian organisation for people concerned about ecology and the environment. They have a wide range of resources including a leaflet on climate change.

Shrinking the Footprint
The Church of England’s national environmental campaign aimed at resourcing their dioceses and churches to reduce their carbon footprint.

Eco Church
A Rocha UK’s award scheme for churches in England and Wales who want to demonstrate that the gospel is good news for God’s earth (previously Eco-Congregations).

John Ray Initiative
An educational charity bringing together scientific and Christian understandings of the environment in a way that can be widely communicated and lead to effective action.

Living Lightly
A project of A Rocha UK, a Christian environmental and conservation charity. It recognises that a biblical understanding of creation care has to be lived out in our everyday lives.

Churches Together in Britain and Ireland Environmental Issues Network (EIN)
Aims to raise awareness within the churches on issues relating to the environment and sustainability, and to develop theological understanding of creation and its ethical implications for environmental policy and action.

Alliance of Religions and Conservation
A secular body that helps the major religions of the world to develop their own environmental programmes, based on their own core teachings, beliefs and practices.

An online resource aimed at increasing understanding of the social implications of climate change to communities across the globe. The initial project bears witness to the disruption that sea level rise is having on low-lying island communities in Bangladesh.

Tearfund produces a range of resources on climate change.
These include Dried Up, Drowned Out,  a short film about climate change and how you can respond.

BMS World Mission
BMS World Mission’s creation care initiative Worth Saving is about a positive approach to creation care and offers a monthly update with news and resources.
