Operation Noah launched Climate change and the purposes of God: a call to the Church (also known as the Ash Wednesday Declaration) on 22nd February 2012 at the start of the Christian season of Lent. The declaration, written by Operation Noah’s theology think-tank, challenges the Church to realise that care for God’s creation – and concern about climate change – is foundational to the Christian gospel and central to the Church’s mission.

This document marked a definitive line for the Church: if we are Christians, these are key issues to which we need to respond – as individuals, as local churches and collectively.
