Operation Noah is looking for a new Bright Now Campaign Director – a paid, full-time role – as well as for volunteer trustees who have experience in human resources or fundraising, or have the ability to learn what is needed to be a trustee with responsibility for one of these areas.

Please see our advertisements below, and note that the deadline to apply for the Bright Now Campaign Director is Friday 8 September 2023.

Bright Now Campaign Director

We are hiring for a Bright Now Campaign Director. The contract period will be one year initially. Continuation of the post beyond one year is dependent on sufficient funds being available.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to lead the team at a key moment for Operation Noah’s Bright Now campaign. The Bright Now campaign encourages UK Churches to divest from fossil fuel companies and invest in climate solutions – working with partners in the UK and globally.

Operation Noah has also received grant funding to scale up our work with UK Churches and faith institutions on investment in climate solutions, such as renewable energy. We are also working with partners on a campaign to encourage the Church of England to increase tree coverage on its land and improve its land management practices, given the urgent climate and biodiversity crises.

The Campaign Director position is a full-time role, working 35 hours per week, with an emphasis on encouraging UK Churches to divest from fossil fuel companies and invest in climate solutions. Read the full Bright Now Campaign Director job description below:

The successful candidate will be an employee of Operation Noah. The job is based in our office in Romero House, Southwark, London, and can involve some home working, subject to agreement. Operation Noah will continue to be responsive to changing circumstances and to ensure the safety of our employees.

If you would like to apply for this role, please email admin@operationnoah.org by Friday 8 September with your CV and a cover letter.

We expect to hold interviews on Monday 25 September.

New Trustees Needed

Are you a Christian with a passion for addressing the climate and biodiversity crises – and do you believe the Church has a vital role to play?

Operation Noah is looking for new trustees, and we are particularly keen to hear from people who have a background in human resources or fundraising, or with the interest and ability to learn what is needed to be a trustee with responsibility for one of these areas.

We are also looking to increase the diversity of our board, especially in terms of ethnicity, denominational affiliation and UK region/nation.

If you are interested in learning more and having a discussion about joining our Board of Trustees, please email us at admin@operationnoah.org.

Our Board of Trustees meets approximately 8 times per year, with meetings lasting two hours and held almost entirely on Zoom. There are also opportunities for board members to join a subcommittee, to speak at churches/ conferences/ events on behalf of Operation Noah, and to use their professional skills and expertise by making strategic decisions that will help strengthen and grow the charity.

Nicky Bull, a current Operation Noah trustee, said this:

‘I joined the Board of Trustees of Operation Noah in June 2012 and it has been a hugely rewarding experience. I had very little specialist knowledge but I was concerned that climate change was not seen as a crucial issue within the Christian Church and it has been really encouraging to see the changes that have taken place over the last decade and to be part of an enthusiastic team helping to bring about those changes. I have learned a great deal and would really recommend anyone who might have a flair for fundraising or who has expertise in HR to consider joining the inspirational group of people who are the trustees of Operation Noah.’
